Just A Worm, 101 and Info

This is post # 101 for me and not a one of them talks of anything but fishing.

I'll leave you with a worm that came out of my vise. I most likely won't fish this fly
but could give a 100% guarantee that you might catch a fish with it.

This worm will out perform a traditional night crawler, or salmon egg's

Hook- Its a worm so just about any hook will be fine. One with some curve is better.
The Rest- Ultra Chenille and three glass beads, a dab of ice dub to cover the joint.

Easy one!
Grab up your glass beads in sizes to fit 18 and larger hooks from your Wal-mart craft section, were talking like 2 bucks for a lifetime supply.
Why your there, grab up a pack of foam sheets, be careful not to get sticky back ones. Before you leave look over the bead storage boxes and find a cool container to keep your hooks in, most of the bead boxes are designed, not to spill.

There's a guy who has a blog called carp on the fly who ties a parttern similar. I mean all these are san juan worm variants. But the carp one uses gold beads. Works pretty well. Nice tie.

Your right! anytime you use ultra, it becomes a Sanjuan (just a worm), Living in the sanjuan mountains of colorado and near the sanjuan river, I can hardly say or type the words sanjuan.
Hate the Sanjusn worm's and the only time's I consider fishing them are. 1- orange ones with red wire rib in off colored spring run off water, and thats only in one spot in the world 2- the other time I might fish one is while workin with a beginer in heavly stocked water, just to get some practace on casting, loosing and landing fish and flies.

I bet you will have it hid away in the side of your box for a rainy day. Worms are always a last resort for me or something I'll tie on when fishing with the kido's. I use to be strongly against their use but have since eased my harsh take on them. after all, they are artificial and fish eat them. not as romantic as a dry fly but good to have in the box just in case the mood gets you.

Fly snobs. =) I know you all use SJ's with even egg patterns in the fall and near spawning season. A guide told me SJ's work even better if you literally chew the ends. Maybe it's your saliva or the way it makes the worm look beat up but suppposedly it slays them. I haven't tried it myself.

Get some foam with sticky backs too for cheap strike indicators

I think I could catch a few trout on that.

First time I've ever thanked anyone for giving me worms. I'll try it as well.
