I heard a hook hit the floor a week or so ago and I crawled around down there with a magnet for longer than I care to admit...
I didn't find it and figured it took a bad hop to a heat vent or something. With three cats and two dogs living in the house. I'll spend a little extra time looking for a hook on the floor...
Well just about 7 days later... I felt the infamous, annoying sock string snagging my toenail... gave a tiny pull on the end of the sock and heard a "click"...
It makes a clicking sound when a razor sharp 200r comes free from being barb deep in the tip of a big toe... Just so ya know..
And it looks like this when you peel it all back...

glad it was a 200r and not some mondo stinger hook
ouchhhh, that always hurts
As the owner of a house currently occupied by two unwelcome cats, I've had to completely clear my tying bench of hooks, flies, thread and feathers. They place the hooks and flies under my chair. Ouch!
Ouch!!! Been there, done that.
Ah, the bane of fly tiers - the dreaded 'dropped' hook. Glad to see ya found it, bro...sorry to see that you found it in your toe.
Superglue should do the trick...and get it healed before March!
That's one way to find it. Better you than the wife or kid. Like CA said -super glue it. (or a touch of head cement)
Ouch....I hate when that happens! But hey, maybe the smell of blood on the hook will increase its popularity among the fish?
